KSME(the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers) has signed agreements for advances in science and technology with the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers(November 7, 1986), the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers(June 17, 1987), the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers(November 7, 1987), the Society of Manufacturing Engineers(January 18, 1988), American Society of Mechanical Engineers(February 15, 1988), German Society of Mechanical Engineers(April 27, 1990), the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society(October 12, 1993) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers(October 21, 1997).

The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers have had biennial joint meetings since 1988 in the areas of thermal and fluid engineering.

IHTC : Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conference |
|
The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers joined IHTC (Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conference) in 1990, and hosted the 11th International Heat Transfer Conference in Gyung-Ju in August 1998.

The dynamics and control division of KSME participates in the activities of International Federation for Theory of Machines and Mechanisms(IFTOMM) .

Backgrounds |
IFToMM is the acronym of International Federation for Theory of Machines and Mechanisms. It aims to increase the cooperation of scholars in machine and mechanism fields. It was established by the European countries in 1996. At present, IFToMM has about 40 member nations, including Korea(which joined in 1997).
IFToMM's main activity is the member congress in every 4 years, along with various meetings held by five Permanent Commissions and 12 Technical Committees. IFToMM-Korea represents the Korean community of mechanical engineers in standardization, education, and publication by participating in various commissions and committees. |
